OUR HISTORY

Pineapples Don’t Have Sleeves is a brand whose main focus is to represent our unique opinion on artistic, cultural and social matters through the fun and graphic side of fashion. Our purpose is to support women by praising their differences and representing the types of beauty. We’re committed to help change stereotypes and to show that fashion can still be fun.

The year 2015 saw the establishment of PDHS, after that our designer, Johanna Nodier, was picked to participate in Milan Fashion Week with Istituto Marangoni at the Warrior Show, and in Paris Fashion Week with Istituto Marangoni and HEC University. After astonishing reviews about our shows in Europe, we participated in Bogota’s Fashion week: with the partnership of Tresemmé, we created a show for our Jabberwocky collection with Vivaldi as a musical background and with looks that would take everybody back to Baroque times and Rococo scenes.

In Colombiamoda 2016, with bright colors and the pop art of Roy Lichtenstein, we showed our 505 collection inspired by Fernando Botero’s aesthetic (with the authorization of the Museo de Antioquía). And, alongside with Chevrolet, once again we transported everybody to our whimsical world with Arctic Monkeys music and sixties inspired silhouettes. Besides, we were part of Vogue Talents Corner, where we showed our proposal to international horizons

The year 2017 began with a great surprise: Our designs were dressed by the participants in the "reality" Colombia's Next Top Model 2017 of Caracol TV, where they made a clear difference. Later, in the White Pavilion of Colombiamoda we presented our world and we were chosen in the Trends Forum as part of the brands that define the Colombian fashion. In October we were at BCapital: both in the 5x5 parade and in the Pop Up Store, where we presented a new facet with our "Like a prayer" collection.

In Colombiamoda 2018, we did a brand activation with our campaign and collection W.A.S.A.H (Women Are Strong As Hell) inspired by women empowerment. And with the fashion magazine Armattura we created accessories made by single working women. In december we had a show at the Aruba Fashion Week where we showed a new side with our collection Barbarella with swimsuits and dresses, besides we also were in the Trunk Show.

In 2019, we created our first official collaboration with Veronica Orozco Abad, WE THE WOMEM, a collection inspired by self-love and solidarity between women, part of the profits were donated to the foundation Niñas Sin Miedo, who helps girls in dangerous situations through cycling and education.

Every item of PDHS is meant to be a piece of art representing our inspiration. There is special attention to the details of the patterns, a vision focused on having the best quality posible, a willingness to develop few pieces of each design to create a sense of authenticity and make our costumers look, feel and live as they want. Our collections have been celebrated by our clients and critics because of its iconic and cheerful vision. We hope you like our world as much as we do. Enjoy and remember: Pineapples Don’t Have Sleeves!
