3 TIPS TO FALL ASLEEP LIKE THE SLEEPING BEAUTY

Pineapples Don't Have Sleeves

Raise your hand if you have been personally attacked by 2020 and 2021, and you have been having problems falling asleep…don’t worry, we’re here to help you fight it.

The pandemic has given us a really important lesson about mental health, anxiety and self-care…We did some research and came out with the best advices experts are giving to help you sleep like The Sleeping Beauty and not letting Covid give you a hard time. And if you have been having nightmares, having a hard time falling asleep or waking up tired and don’t know why, this article was made for you.

The National Sleep Foundation of USA advises healthy adults need between 7 and 9 hours of sleep per night, however since Covid, sleep deprivation and insomnia are on the rise. And by now, we already know that sleep deprivation is not just about feeling tired, it can have a significant impact on your mental health, and unless you start working at noon, you better worry about having a good sleep routine.

Aromatherapy is the solution to all of your problems

We know that at first sight this might sound silly, but there are several studies that prove that turning your bedroom into a relaxing and soothing spa can have a powerful effect on your well-being. It can go as far as starting your morning relaxed and energised, help you focus during the day and calm you at night. And in this Covid era, we truly crave for nights at home feeling joyful and happy. So, how can you try aromatherapy in your life? There are some ways:

  1. The most common and romantic one, a candle. Pick your favorite smell, maybe lavender or eucalyptus and have a romantic night on your own, fall in love with yourself, believe us, you’ll feel great afterwards.

  2. Essential oils are your new best friends. Just a few drops on your hands, wrist or temples, and you’ll feel like walking on clouds. There is also the option of buying a diffuser, you put the essential oil in it and you’ll fall asleep like a baby.

Reducing screen time increases relaxation

First of all we know reducing screen time is really hard and even more in the Covid era when your cell phones and computers are the main way to communicate. But it’s well known that Blue light or artificial light emitted by electronic devices can disrupt your sleeping process or keep you awake, do you find this familiar?

Before you keep reading, sit down, this advice will shock you…but in theory, you should stop using any electronic devices (phones, tablets, computers, etc) an hour before sleep.

It sounds crazy, but maybe we can take this time to read (for example, using a Kindle), prepare you Girl Boss look for the next day or meditate; trust us, you’ll feel incredible.

Make a playlist and get the best rest of your life

No, we’re not talking about listening to Taylor Swift or Amy Winehoue to sleep, but there are some studies that have proven that some sounds, in particularly, water sounds can relax you in your sleeping process.

How does music therapy work? Basically, it helps you block other sounds that you don’t have control over, like traffic or people talking. Go on Spotify, look for sleeping playlists and try them on, from waves till birds chirping, thunderstorms or even classical music.

Try these advices and let us know how it goes, we’ll be waiting to see how you feel after your beauty sleep!
