Hello there! Welcome to the second part of the Pineapples course on how to mix & match prints like a real fashionista.
In our first article we taught you some of the most basic rules, but this time, we’re going all in to make sure you’re an expert in wearing everything Pineapples (like our new collection RSVP) and using prints like a pro.
We only have one rule, no preconceptions! Remember that fashion is meant to be fun and these are just suggestions.

Friendly reminder: Don’t forget that clothes only come alive when you wear them. Make sure to have fun in the process and wear prints however you want!
Are you still there? Fasten your seatbelt and let's resume our class with rule number...
6. Don't be afraid of contrasts
If you’ve read our last article, you already know how important it is to know the color wheel because it will help you understand the art (not a science) of mixing prints. In this case, it’s all about realizing that opposites attract. What do we mean by that? Colors that are opposites on the color wheel are great together.

We know it’s hard to imagine, but as this picture shows it, it’s a very fun and cool way to mix colors.
7. Play with unexpected proportions
Babe, we know it’s hard to believe, but trust us that it works when you don’t want to focus on color but instead on shapes and sizes.

This is a great opportunity to take those clothes with bold prints out of the closet and to mix them with pieces with small patterns. The results are always gonna surprise you. After mastering this rule, you’ll be ready for fashion week.
8. Monochrome and multicolored forever.
We’re sure you have seen Rihanna and wondered: How is it that she mixes prints and always is so cool about it? Well, this tip is about to explain to you just that.
Let’s explain this theory with polkadots as you can find them everywhere in different colors and sizes. A tip that always works is to have a monochromatic print and a multicolored piece that shares a color.

This picture is a clear example, you can have a black and white polkadots print and mix it with a blue print that has white too.
We pinky promise that this is one the most precious tips in the fashion industry.
9. Extravagants and delicates are a match made in heaven
Drum roll please…this is our most important piece of advice and if you have followed us for a while, you know we use it constantly.
Ok, ok, we know you’re probably wondering what is it, so enough with they hype and let’s get into it. Think about two pieces in your closet: One can have a very refined and delicate print, and the other one can have a bold and extravagant print…and, surprise, mix them together!
It’s honestly the most fun way to mix pieces that you never thought could go together, so don’t think about it twice.
10. Prints with solid colors
Do you want to know the easiest way to mix prints? You got it! You can never make a mistake with this tip, it’s very simple: One piece with prints and another one of a solid color.
That’s why you can never go wrong with printed pants and a white t-shirt or a printed blouse with solid color pants, you have used this rule before, right?
